Garmin iQue 3600 Review - Garmin iQue 3600 GPS Review - Specs

The iQue is the first PalmOS-based computer to include an integrated GPS. Before developing the iQue, Garmin was faced with the decision of whether to house their next system on the Palm OS or the Windows CE platform. Most handheld GPS users have elected to use Windows CE units, like the Hewlett Packard Jornada and the Compaq iPAQ, with GPS cards attached to them. Garmin, however, decided to break the mold by choosing the (superior) Palm OS platform as their operating environment.

The iQue is the perfect handheld computer and automotive companion. It features all the standard Palm OS apps, including an integrated MP3 player. Using a standard CD player to tape player adaptor, I attached the iQue to my car’s audio system, which allowed me to jam along with my favorite songs, while at the same time getting voice announced turn by turn directions read to me loud and clear. The iQue gave my cheesy little Dodge Neon an advantage over expensive luxury cars offering inferior navigation systems.
