Garmin Nuvi 765T GPS
With so many GPS receivers on the market, one can become quite overwhelmed when trying to make a decision when shopping for navigational help. Just how much do you need from the device, and what do you want it to do for you? How much do you want to spend? Today we'll be reviewing a GPS that seems to do nearly everything, the Garmin Nuvi 765T.
Of course, for the bare basics, you can always go for the ones on sale for near $100. Then again, speaking from personal experience, that is not always the wisest decision, as the cheaper devices tend to perform poorly, have a small feature set, and often malfunction.
If you are willing to spend more and get a quality product, then it is hard to go wrong with a GPS from Garmin, a well-respected name in the industry. The Garmin Nuvi 765T is a new edition from the manufacturer, and it pretty much does it all. Packed into its nice design, you get Bluetooth, FM radio, a picture viewer, text to speech functionality, and even free traffic updates, just to name a few.
You get what you pay for, though, and the 765T is definitely not cheap at a retail price of $449.99. However, if you want a quality product that not only gives you navigation but plenty of other options as well, you can't really go wrong with the Garmin Nuvi 765T.
Features abound in the Nuvi 765T. Perhaps one of the best features is the fact that you get free lifetime traffic updates via Navteq Traffic for as long as you own the GPS. The Nuvi 765T uses its integrated FM receiver to catch these updates. There is no subscription fee for this feature, and it is made free in exchange for displaying advertisements on the unit periodically.
The advertisements only appear on the screen when the vehicle is not in motion, so you don't have to worry about them interrupting your data as you drive. It's a pretty fair exchange for free updates, especially since the ads do not dominate the screen when they pop up. The traffic updates are great to have if you are constantly on time-sensitive schedules, live in a heavily populated area, or do deliveries or outside sales, as time is always of the essence.
