    Garmin Nuvi 265WT - Performance

For the most part, the Garmin Nuvi 265WT has performed well for the majority of users. In fact, on Amazon, it has received 4 out of 5 stars. It has also gotten good reviews from CNET, as Bonnie Cha (an editor who reviewed the device), gave it 3.5 stars, which means it was classified as "Very Good."

"Very Good" is not perfect. So where did the device go wrong? Well, when you load the device for the first time, you may have to wait several minutes. This gets better thanks to HotFix, but it can still be annoying having to wait that long to begin with.

As far as layout, the 265WT is very easy-to-use, even if you’ve never had experience with a GPS device. The text is a nice size, and the touch screen responds well for the average user.

Now, in terms of the navigation, the device is above-average in comparison to cheaper systems, but it’s not perfect. True, the 265WT will get you where you need to go, but its traffic receiver doesn’t always register when there’s congestion, especially when it first starts. This is what happened to Bonnie Cha when she tested the unit. As she was traveling to the San Francisco International Airport, she encountered traffic from a 49ers game. The 265WT did recognize that there was traffic, but it said that the traffic was "ahead." In reality the traffic had just occurred.

The Bluetooth connectivity also has limitations. In Bonnie’s test, she said that she could hear things on her end, but the caller on the other end had trouble making out what she was saying.

    Conclusion

Ultimately, the Garmin Nuvi 265WT has a lot to offer. Yes, it can be considered mid-range when it comes to price, but it does possess features not found on cheaper systems. And, it adds a little bit of creativity with its navigation. The 3-D maps as well as the photo integration make the trip even more exciting.

However, the 265T is not without problems, though most users will find these very minor. Basically, if you’re looking for a cheap GPS system that will give you clear and accurate directions, the Garmin Nuvi 265WT is the way to go.
