Garmin Nuvi 205W GPS - Performance and Conclusion

For its price, the Garmin Nuvi 205W cannot be beat when it comes to performance. The menu interface is very simple and user friendly. Directions can be obtained either by entering an address or searching for a POI.

The 205W turns on and obtains a signal very fast when compared to other GPS devices. Entering addresses is a breeze as well, thanks to the responsive touch screen.

Unfortunately there is no auto-complete, but the device accepts input without lag or freezing up. The 205W also processes routes and performs re-routing without a fuss as well.

Simply put, for the price, one would be hard pressed to find a better GPS than the Garmin Nuvi 205W. What it lacks in bells and whistles, it more than makes up for in ease of use and good performance. The POI loader is great for getting customized POIs, and the device also does a good job of warning you of potential “ticket” hazards. The Garmin Nuvi 205W is a great pickup for GPS newbies or those looking for a simple navigational device without all the frills.
