Dell`s First Smartphone: What Can You Expect from the Android? - The Android OS

It’s telling that Dell chose the Android OS over others which are available for smartphones, including Microsoft. Linux-based, Android is becoming popular with many different mobile device carriers. This system works with Google’s Java libraries to run all applications and software.

Using this platform creates smartphones which are capable of holding large graphics libraries, both 2D and 3D. Because Android is designed to work with a number of different systems, including SMS and EMS messaging, it offers a lot of options for handheld device lovers. It easily supports multi-touch features, keeping it competitive on the mobile market.

What really makes Android unique is the Android Market, which is similar to various iStores accessed through iPhones made by Apple. The Market offers an extensive collection of applications and add-ons that help users customize their smartphones and get more options out of their devices.

The Market is growing in the US all the time, which bodes well for the future of this OS. Since it was released, Android has been through a number of updates and improvements. Because it comes with many different Google applications standard, it’s a popular choice among smartphones, and Dell’s isn’t the only project that’s currently in development.

    The Future of Smartphones

Dell isn’t the first computer company to jump into the smartphone arena, and it won’t be the last. Cell phones and mobile devices are getting more intelligent all the time, it seems, as users discover the convenience of getting online entertainment and working with business applications even when they’re on the go. Smartphones are only going to get more sophisticated and more prevalent as time marches on, with more and more jumping into the fray to offer these products. Soon, everyone will be carrying a smartphone.
