Dell`s First Smartphone: What Can You Expect from the Android? - The New Version of Dell’s Android Smartphone
(Page 3 of 4 )
On the Chinese market, Dell’s new smartphone has a 3 megapixel camera. When it comes to United States shores, however, the device will have 5 megapixels for sharper clarity and better quality. The phone will also have a 3.5-inch display screen, MicroSD slot and other features to make it more appealing to US users. It’s likely the smartphone will come with Google software built in, a choice which has been made by many other handheld device manufacturers.
The planned Android device will be the very first smartphone released by Dell, a company previously known for its personal computers. The unveiling of this product is only one more in a long line of handheld devices which have been presented to US markets, and currently the iPhone is probably the most well-known and widely-used of all smartphones which are currently available. The question is, how does Dell’s planned device stack up against this incredibly popular handheld?
Dell Smartphone vs. The iPhone
The iPhone (pictured below) is something of a pioneer in the smartphone market, and Apple set the bar pretty high when they unveiled this highly-popular device. Equipped with tons of downloadable apps, access to the popular iTunes store, touch-button control and lots of other fun features, it’s no wonder the iPhone is something other mobile companies strive to emulate. So, how will Dell’s smartphone compare to this well-loved device?
Dell’s Mini 3i device is a little thinner than the iPhone, in keeping with current mobile trends. The Android shell which overlays the smartphone looks similar to the iPhone’s well-known icon interface, which is operated via touch screen. In many other respects, the Mini 3i is very similar to the iPhone and other smartphones.
Android phones are already available through other mobile carriers, including T-Mobile (the T-Mobile HTC G1 Android is picture above). Looking at these phones could give buyers a good idea of what they can expect from the planned Dell smartphone.
