Now that we have everything unpacked and ready to go, it’s time to get started. The first step is to charge everything for the first time. To charge the set, you need to connect the AC adapter to the Y-splitter, then attach the two devices to the ends of the Y. They have different plugs, so don’t worry about putting them on the wrong side.

The red lights show the charging status. When they turn green and blue, we’re ready to go. Their first charge took about 2 hours and 30 minutes. According to the manual, it will operate for 6 hours on a full charge. We’ll get to put that to the test shortly.
The I-PHONO transmitter that plugs into your iPod or other MP3 player is adjustable. iPods headphone plugs are aligned differently according to model, and Bluetake thought ahead to make the adapter adjustable. Below you’ll see I removed the rubber cover and moved the headphone plug into the middle of its track.

If you have an MP3 player besides an iPod, you might consider using the extension stereo adapter, like my little iriver below.

Well, with the basics out of the way, let’s establish a connection with an iPod. We’ll get to see the sound quality and how well the device is able to control the iPod’s play functions.
