Asus R700t GPS - Display and Design

The impressive display has a resolution of 480x272 that churns out 65,000 colors, a necessity when you consider the innovative 3D maps that come on the R700t. There is no need to worry about brightness issues either, as the R700t also comes equipped with technology that adjusts the brightness of the display according to your environment, meaning you don’t have to squint or move the unit around to see details in very bright or dark conditions.

Besides the display, the Asus R700t’s design and layout consist of a microSD expansion slot, a 2.5mm headphone jack, an external antenna jack, speaker, and a mini USB port.

The menu system of the Asus R700t is very user friendly and intuitive. If you have some experience with electronics it is not necessary to open the manual prior to usage. You can simply learn how to use the R700t after delving into the menus yourself and becoming acquainted with them. The menu icons are large and easy to distinguish for those without the greatest eyesight. The R700t’s various functions are easily accessible via the user friendly menus. Navigation, phone, music, video, and photo viewing capabilities can all be accessed in a snap.

In addition to the unit itself, Asus provides purchasers of the R700t GPS device with a car charger, AC adapter, USB cable, 2 GB microSD card, carrying case, earbuds, mount, and of course reference material. A downside to the R700t is that the mount provided by Asus only serves to mount the device to the windshield and not the dashboard. This could definitely present a problem to those users living in states where there are laws forbidding the existence of any devices mounted to your windshield. This should be taken into consideration prior to purchasing the R700t, as it could be rendered partially useless if you are unlucky enough to live in a state like California where those laws exist.
