Apple iPhone Secrets Unveiled
What do we know about the widely rumored multi-function cell phone that Apple has in the works? Well, first of all, the phone will not be called the iPhone. That brand name is property of Cisco, who on December 18 released a Linksys VoIP phone that supports Messenger and Skype. For more on what Apple may have up their sleeve, keep reading.
"Only the paranoid survive."

Mac enthusiasts are fanatically loyal to the Apple brand, from notebooks and computers to portable media players. Apple builds the culture by having beautiful Apple centers for sales and maintenance, and by paying attention to branding and differentiating their products. Employees of Apple are instructed during orientation that they are being initiated to the Cult of Mac, and are told to ignore Steve Jobs if they pass him in the halls, so the company has a well deserved reputation for secrecy. However, despite their best efforts to keep their new product (the "iPhone") under wraps, several sources have started leaking advance information on it.
It's worth noting, however, that Apple is notorious for spreading misinformation in order to find leaks in their organization and also to confuse the competition, so it could all be one big hoax. Frankly I think that's impossible; the "cult of Mac" conversations all over the blogosphere are simply going gaga over the Apple Phone, with several graphics artists even going as far as to design what they believe it will look like. As they say in certain parts of the world, there is no smoke without fire.
We are going to look at the evidence that shows that Apple is really developing a mobile phone cum portable media player; we will also look at possible release dates and sales projections. Then we will get a verbal description of the aesthetics and features of the phone gleaned from none other than Kevin Rose, founder of http://www.digg.com/, the democratic technology site, as well as from Wall Street financial analysts Prudential Equity Group. Pictures for the actual phone itself will probably not be available until the January Macworld conference at best (however I have some links to images). In concluding we will see whether it is possible for Apple's bid to enter the mobile phone market to fail and what it would mean if they do succeed.
