Apple Updates iPods - The Future

Now that we finally got our 160 GB iPod Classic to take care of the people with massive libraries, and others for the people that wanted everything, video, touchscreen, and Wi-Fi, what is next? I’m not sure about this one. Apple pretty much hit all the demands of the people, which is what any company wants to do.

What I would like to see would be an iPod Classic-sized iPod Touch. If you’re going to have all the bells and whistles, why not have 20 or 80 or even 160 GB of space? This of course is going to kill the small size factor. Maybe if Apple increased the size for the iPod Shuffle and Nano, we would see more people buying these models. The iPod Nano seems to be the smallest size you can get without losing functionality. I don’t see Apple making it any smaller while still offering video and all the bells and whistles it has.

By the way, Apple as also added a Shuffle and Nano version of the Product (red).  This is nothing more then a red colored iPod. The plus side to these iPods is that part of the product price will go to help fight AIDS and other diseases in Africa.

    Conclusion

Apple geared up for another exciting Christmas this year with a total revamp of its iPod lineup. Sometimes the company only offers a new capacity or a new color.  This year there were many new models and many new features. The Shuffle did suffer by getting only new colors, but the rest of the line received major remodeling.

The Nano is like a new device and brought all the features of the iPod with it. The iPod got renamed to the iPod Classic and received a really big upgrade to its size. This would have been an overall good Christmas alone, but then Apple introduced the new iPod Touch. This is a stripped-down iPhone, but finally brings many features found in other MP3 players to the iPod (like Wi-Fi), and also revolutionizes the portable music market with a touch screen. Apple has done a great job with R&D and should put the iPod back onto the top of the must have Christmas gifts list this winter. If you can’t wait until the holiday season, all the new iPods are available at Apple.com and other stores.
