Alternatives to the iPod Touch - Archos 605
(Page 3 of 4 )
Next up is the Archos 605 WiFi player. With prices beginning at $229, it is another viable alternative to the iPod Touch. It is Mac-compatible, has touch-screen navigation, WiFi, and a high resolution display. All these features at an affordable price make it a hard product to beat when it comes to touch-screen MP3 and personal video players.

In terms of design, few can compete with the Archos 605 WiFi, even Apple. The device is large enough, yet ergonomically designed to fit comfortably into one's pocket. The 605 possesses a large 4.3 inch screen that provides one of the highest resolutions on the market at 800x480. Video stands out with exceptional brightness and clarity on this player.
Another excellent plus of the touch-screen's design is its ability to prevent smudges from excessive use. The 605, however, does have a problem when it comes to easy scratching on its metal panel, but this is a common thread among pretty much all players on the market. Another flaw in the 605's design is the lack of a universal USB connection.
