Alternatives to the iPod Touch - YP-P2 continued
(Page 2 of 4 )
One downside of the P2 is that it only supports WMA and MP3 audio formats. Samsung tries to counteract this however with a nine band equalizer and an array of sound effects, making the P2 the ultimate machine for music lovers. Regarding video, the P2 supports WMV and SVI formats in a crisp 480x272 resolution. Users can also view their favorite JPEG photos on the player while listening to music. Other perks on the P2 are RSS feeds, called Datacasts, and Primepack, which is a product that includes basic features, such as an alarm clock and calendar among other things.

The Samsung YP-P2's performance is nearly flawless and gives the iPod Touch some serious competition. Photos and videos really stand out on the screen, especially in the highest resolutions. While most players only have sound settings for music, the P2 gives its users the choice of three different sound settings for video that include normal, action, or drama.
The strength of the P2's battery is equally impressive. It shells out nearly 35 hours of audio and 5 hours of video life, which is quite high for MP3 and personal video players. Perhaps the only drawback concerning the P2's performance is the touch-screen navigation, because it is not always as responsive to the touch as one would hope. However, the other aforementioned pluses of the player seem to mask this minor problem.
For those seeking the ultimate audio experience, the Samsung YP-P2 is a great choice. Its overly impressive nine band equalizer and crisp sound makes it an audiophile's dream. Priced lower than the iPod Touch, the P2 is a great alternative for those seeking touch-screen technology.
