    Alienware HUB Docking Sound System

There are just some brand names out there that most people consider to be “wow” brands. These brands offer cutting edge products that many of us just dream about. One of these brands is Alienware. Today, we are taking a look at Alienware’s HUB Docking Sound System, to see if it’s worthy of abduction.

I’ll admit, Alienware’s HUB has been on the market for about a year now, but one just happened to find itself on my desk and it’s just not getting away without being reviewed.

So what is the HUB? Consider it a pair of 2.1 speakers, packaged in Alienware style. It can be powered by AC, DC, or by 8 "D" batteries. If you are fortunate enough to own an Alienware MP3 player, it has an integrated dock that holds the player snug, so you can easily take it portable. The HUB also has a line-in jack for hooking up nearly any audio device.

So before I tear the box apart to get at the HUB, let’s take a look at the specs and features per Alienware’s website:

    • Cradle especially designed for the Alienware CE-IV digital audio player
    • Supports virtually all digital audio players and other audio devices
    • SRS WOW(TM) with controls for TruBass, Focus, and 3D
    • 2.1 Channel Sound
    • Stereo speakers plus bottom-firing subwoofer
    • 30W RMS output power
    • Electronic volume control
    • Headphone jack
    • Auxiliary input
    • A/V line output
    • Remote control (battery included) to let you control the HUB from across the room
    • 3-way power: AC/DC/batteries
    • Accessories include: AC adapter and desktop cradle
    • 90 day limited warranty

Now that we know what it is and what features it offers, let’s open the box.
