Improved User Interface
The new Zune got a complete overhaul on its user interface, which now sports very stylish over-sized words on the main menu screen. The main menu leads you to all of the device's other functions. Navigating the internal menus of the Zune is fast and smooth. One of the newest features of the improved interface is the new podcast capability, which is accessible from the main menu screen. This feature allows you to store all, or some, of your favorite podcasts on your Zune, and you even have the option of canceling a podcast subscription right from your Zune.
Wi-Fi capabilities
Like the first generation Zune, the new Zune has some nice Wi-Fi capabilities. The 80 GB Zune goes a step further than the original Zune, because the new Zune is now able to sync wirelessly with a PC to automatically update any software upgrades or to upload any new songs in your PC's library. This feature is very easy to set up; it's very useful and saves a lot of time.
The second generation Zune also has the same Zune-to-Zune sharing as its predecessor. This is a pretty cool feature, which allows one Zune user to share a song or photo with another Zune user wirelessly. The range of the Zune's Wi-Fi varies, but it is typically about 30-40 feet. The one drawback of the sharing feature is that you can only play a shared song three times before it is automatically deleted from your Zune. This rule does not hold true for photo-sharing though.
