OCZ Gold 2-2-2 - Testing

The overclocking results above look very promising and now it is time to see if the hype holds up. The following hardware was used for testing:

• Mobo: DFI NF4 Ultra-D
• CPU: AMD A64 ‘ Venice’
• GPU: X800XL
• PSU: OCZ PowerStream 520w
• HDD: Samsung 80 GB SATA Hard Drive
• RAM: OCZ Gold 2-2-2

Note for this testing I had to tweak the memory settings around some. It wasn’t plug-and-play like the VX was. The biggest alteration I made was changing the drive strength to level 8 instead of auto. This had a hug impact on the speeds I was able to obtain.

Sandra

The first test will be Sandra’s memory bandwidth test. This will find the buffered and unbuffered bandwidth of the memory at the different speeds and latency. The higher the bandwidth, the better in this test.

Everest Home Suite

The Everest Home Suite tests are similar to the Sandra tests, but will test the read and write speeds as well as the latency. The faster the read and write speeds the better, and the lower the latency the better.
