    OCZ Booster - Installation

Here is where my only problem came in. I have a water cooling system that takes up most of my case. The tubes for the reservoir run straight above the memory slots. Getting this in was no easy task, but I wouldn’t call it a pain in the butt; it just required a little extra time.

Compared to the size of the memory, the DDR Booster is big. Motherboards tend to have little room between slots. For all of the boards that I have tried this in, the booster took up the slot to the right of it. I have it in slot 4 on my motherboard, and the memory in slots 1 and 3. If you have only three slots, you may not be able to run two sticks and the DDR Booster. Please check the motherboard's compatibility first.

I managed to fit both sticks of memory and the DDR Booster in, but it was a tight fit. I don’t like how close the Booster is to the stick. With more volts to the RAM comes more heat, and the DDR Booster also runs really hot. So much heat so close together could create a problem.

Don’t forget about the power connectors. I put these in before I put in the DDR Booster; I knew it would quickly get tight in there. If you stick Molex connectors in, it will fry; if you put them in the wrong connectors, it will fry. Are you getting at how important it is to put them in right? They are labeled “left” and “right.” My first question was “what is the front?” You could look at what wires are running in them, and match it with the setting printed on the PCB. If you don’t know what the colored wires correspond to, OCZ has color coded both parts.
