    Kingston HyperX DDR PC3500 CL2 - Kingston HyperX DDR PC3500 CL2

    Overclocking

While I would have liked to include some overclocking benchmarks, anything over 217 FSB was just not stable on the nForce2. This is still pretty decent, as before the recent BIOS update, the HyperX modules (as well as some other manufacturers) were not even seeing anything over 185-190 FSB. nVidia fixed the BIOS, and Kingston came out with a newer revision of the HyperX PC3500, and that is where we are at today.

    Conclusion

The HyperX PC3500 is good memory. It does what it is supposed to do. As far as any overclocking, 217 FSB is nice, but with the ability of the nForce2 to go much higher, I don't think its a good match for those looking for breakneck overclocks on the new revisions of the nForce2. While the HyperX did perform better on my previous v1.2 NF7-S, unfortunately, it died an untimely death, so no benchmarks were recorded for this article. While the HyperX ran very well on the earlier nForce2 chipset, the newer Crush 18D chipset seems to be giving it some problems. Hopefully, as the BIOS matures even more, these kinks will be worked out.

    Pros

    1. Kingston name and warranty

    2. Kingston is constantly working to improve the performance with the nForce2 chipset

    Cons

    1. Not a great overclocker (by great, I mean 220 FSB and up...)

Thanks go out to Kingston Technology Company Inc. for providing the review sample. As always, and comments/complaints can be thrown into the forums.
