Geil Ultra X PC3200 BH5 - Installation and Setup
(Page 3 of 5 )
Installation
Installing memory modules is a very simple task to most users. No tools are really needed once you have opened your case. Remove any existing memory modules, if you are replacing older sticks. If you are upgrading you can simply just open both levers on the DDR slots line up the keyed slot and firmly insert the module into the memory bank.
If you plan to use dual channel make sure you insert the stick in the same colored bank. Once you have the memory banks installed you can boot up the system and check the bios settings to see if the latencies are set to the following CAS 2.5, TRCD 2, TRP 2, TRAS 5 also set 1T Bank Interleave.

Here you can see the mirror finish really well. The sticks look amazing. The only annoyance is that they easily pick up your fingerprints.
Overclocking
Overclocking is really what these Ultra X sticks are meant for. They have all of the potential to push your system to new limits in performance but to get the absolute most out of the system, you must have hardware capable of providing the necessary voltages to the memory. Otherwise you could modify components to provide the added voltages. Most motherboards are designed to run 3.0v 3.2v and some up to 3.8v, which is also the max one can achieve with an OCZ DDR Booster on certain motherboards, check motherboard specifications to see if it has high enough voltage options for you or check to see if the DDR booster is compatible before if you plan to get into maximum performance out of the memory.
