Effects of Memory Latency - Testing Setup

We will take our memory through multiple tests, real world and synthetic benchmarks. The only change will be the memory's latency, to see how it affects the performance of the PC.

    Test Setup

    • Intel Pentium 4 2.6c GHz
    • Abit Ai7
    • BFG Nvidia 6800
    • Samsung 120GB 7200RPM
    • Windows XP SP2
    • Kingston HyperX PC3200 (512MB *2)

We will be running the tests on an Intel platform. The memor will be run in each test in the fallow memory latency. All tests with be 1:1, meaning it will be running at its stock speed of 200 MHz, and will be in Dual Channel mode. The memory used for this test would not boot on anything beyond 2.5-4-4-8.

    • 2-2-2-5
    • 2.5-3-3-7
    • 2.5-4-4-8
