Crucial Ballistix Tracer PC4000 2x512MB - Benchmarks: SiSoft Sandra, AIDA32
(Page 4 of 8 )
SiSoft Sandra
As with any memory review the synthetic benchmark SiSoft Sandra was used to get a theoretical idea of how the memory modules perform. The 2004 version of Sandra was used instead of the 2005 to compare to previously tested memory modules that weren't available for this round of testing.

As the numbers above show, at PC3200 speed Crucial's new Ballistix Tracers (PC4000) are equal to the performance of the Ballistix PC3200 modules. These are the first high frequency (PC4000 or above) modules tested here that had the ability to run the tight memory timings of 2-2-2-5, clearly giving them an advantage of the PC4000 and PC4400 memory modules.

Once the overclocking begins the Tracer (PC4000) modules are able distance themselves from their PC3200 sibling and stay in the lead of the competitor's memory modules, thanks to the Tracer's ability to run at 2.5-3-3-6 at PC4000 (DDR500) speeds.
AIDA32

Very similar to the results seen with SiSoft Sandra, AIDA32 shows the Crucial Tracer modules (PC4000) neck and neck with the Ballistix PC3200 modules. And, both of the Crucial modules are ahead of the competition.

As before, once the front side bus is raised the Tracer modules really shine (pun intended).
