Crucial Ballistix PC3200 2x512MB Memory Review - Overclocking
(Page 7 of 8 )
All overclocking results with memtest86, Prime95, and various game playing for at least a 24 hour period. Increasing the voltage above 2.8 volts did not yield any better results.
| Timings | Highest Front Side Bus | Highest Front Side Bus | Highest Front Side Bus |
| | Ballistix PC3200 | Kingston 3200UL | Corsair 3200XL |
| CAS 2 (2-2-2-5) | 216 MHz - DDR432 | 205 MHz - DDR410 | 216 MHz - DDR432 |
| CAS 2.5 (2.5-3-3-6) | 255 MHz - DDR510* | 252 MHz - DDR504 | 249 MHz - DDR498 |
| CAS 3 (3-4-4-8) | 255 MHz - DDR510 | 252 MHz - DDR504 | 250 MHz - DDR500 |
The Crucial Ballistix PC3200 more than managed to hold its own in the overclocking department. The Ballistix either was the strongest overclocking memory or tied for best. In fact, the Ballistic memory modules were able to run at slightly tighter CAS 2.5 timing. They were able to achieve 2.5-2-2-5 compared to the 2.5-3-3-6 timings of the other modules.
