Crucial Ballistix PC3200 2x512MB Memory Review - The Test Setup
(Page 3 of 8 )

Nice looking modules. The orange-gold heat spreaders with black accents really look good.
The memory was run on Intel's i875 chipset due to its ability for high bus speeds and extraordinary memory performance.

As with previous memory reviews, these memory modules were tested in two other systems for compatibility. The ASUS A7X8X-Deluxe, based on the nForce2 chipset, had no problems at all with these modules and was able to run them at their rated timings and speed. The second system, an ASUS P4R800-V Deluxe based on ATI's 9100 IGP chipset, did have some difficulties with the modules when they were run with the 2-2-2-5 timings. Once I loosened the timings to 2.5-3-3-6 they ran without any problems. I wasn't really surprised by these results. The P4R800-V has had problems with any RAM at tight timings. Corsair's and Kingston's low latency memory could not be used at CAS 2 either.
