Razer Lycosa Gaming Keyboard Review - Summary
(Page 4 of 4 )
On the whole, this is a very fine keyboard; it looks fantastic and the backlighting, while not essential, is still perfect. The key response times are excellent and the key action is smooth, requiring little or no adjustment period. The soft-touch keys feel incredible, but they are not completely slip free. This isn’t too bad though, as key-slippage has never really been a problem for me. It’s versatile and felt equally comfortable while gaming or working. The media panel is very nicely done.
It does have some specialized gaming features, such as the gaming mode, profile switching action, the WASD lighting, and the anti-ghosting, but there is nothing here that’s really ground-breaking -- nothing that hasn’t been seen before in some shape or form.
Its only real failure, as far as I can tell, is the poor quality audio sockets on the back of the keyboard. It’s possible that I was just unlucky and received one with a manufacturing defect, or it could be connected to having on-board sound or some other aspect of my hardware configuration. But ultimately, if this is simply something that has been badly done, it could be a big turn off for gamers. No audio would have been better than bad audio.
Pros
Stunning Looks
‘just right’ backlighting
Gaming mode and multiple profile support
Integrated USB port
Responsive and comfortable
Macro recording facilities
Cons
Poor audio
A little expensive
