Nyko Air Flo Game Pad Review - Conclusion

    Pros

    • Tried and true design
    • Stiff analog sticks that are good for flight and racing simulators.
    • Stiff, but not-too-stiff button sensitivity
    • Awesome patented Air Flo design to cool your sweaty palms

    Cons

    • Stiff analog sticks are not good for first person shooters
    • On high, fan is extremely loud.

The sweaty-palmed hardcore gamer will definitely appreciate the cool breeze keeping his hands dry, but at the cost of having to turn up the volume of the game to cover up the noisy fan. The buttons and sticks were stiffer than usual, which can work well in some settings.

All in all I would recommend this game pad to most gamers. Unfortunately a lot of those gamers are big fans of first person shooters, which I found don’t work too great with the analog sticks.

Right now you can pick up this game pad for a reasonable $25, with free shipping from Best Buy’s website. Other controllers in this price range include Belkin’s Nostromo Dual Analog, Logitech’s Dual Action, and Gravis’s Eliminator. In comparison, I would probably only take the Logitech into consideration: the others look cheap, and I know for a fact that Logitech makes quality peripherals. If having cool hands helps to give you a cool head in rough gaming situations then this may very well be for you. Any questions or comments can be sent to me directly here, or stop by our forums.
