Microsoft Sidewinder Gaming Mouse - Features

    Features

The new Sidewinder comes with a host of nice features. Microsoft has implemented a new quick turn feature which allows the user to turn their character 180 degrees with the click of a button during game play. Like other top-notch gaming mice, the Sidewinder also allows the user to change the weight of the mouse for a fully customizable feel. This mouse comes with four weights which will add up to about 30 grams. Another great feature is the adjustable DPI
settings which allow the user to adjust the 2,000 DPI laser engine to a low, medium, or high sensitivity setting -- again allowing for a custom experience with this mouse.

There are also several programmable buttons on this mouse. These buttons can be used to program a sequence of moves which can be accessed with the click of a button. I can see this feature giving the gamer a huge advantage during game play. The ability of the user to program macros and profiles into the mouse can really help the gamer take it to the next level by making user-defined moves and sequences easier and faster to perform.

This mouse will give the user the ability to program up to 5,000 macros into the customizable buttons.

As I previously mentioned, this mouse is the first production model to sport an LCD display. This small display is intended to reduce on-screen interference by displaying the DPI setting the user is currently using as well any macro recording icons.

One last feature of the Sidewinder is the quick launch button which will take the user directly to games explorer in Windows Vista to easily access all of the games on their PC.
