Logitech V200 Wireless Mouse - Hardware

    Hardware

This mouse uses an infrared diode pair for its scanning, though it does have a green LED that blinks to show that it's working.  I couldn't get any information on its scanning resolution. The user's manual is pretty sparse (two oversize pages) and designed with big pictures for your typical consumer-sheep.

As with all Logitech mice, this one has nice large glider feet, two in front and a big one in the back.  The movement is smooth and effortless. The scroll wheel is grey rubberized plastic -- no grooves or notches, so as this one ages, it will likely harden and get slippery with hand oils.  Cleaning the wheel with isopropyl alcohol will often fix that, by the way.

The center button on the scroll wheel is a bit deep and firm for my liking -- it does prevent one from inadvertently center-clicking while trying to scroll left or right, but it's still a little annoying.  Speaking of the lateral scroll, there is no tactile or audio feedback when pressing the wheel to either side; unless you are watching the screen move sideways, you can't tell if the button is engaged.
