"The fan controlling feature may be the biggest improvement over previousmodels as it allows users to eliminate an extra 5.25" device if theyalready have a fan control unit installed. Once the fans are hooked upthey can be controlled under the control center preferences. The speed ofthe fans can be adjusted using the slide bar or by typing a numericalvalue from 0 to 100 in the box to the right. There is also a lock featurethat can be set to make sure the fans don’t drop below 50% of power, thisis useful if you’re using the unit to control a heatsink fan. There arealso advanced options available if you expand the fan section. Here youcan set up two preset actions based on temperatures (taken frommotherboard temperature sensors), CPU use, or by manually clicking oneither of the two presets."
