Father's Day is coming up, and what better way to show Dad you love him than with an awesome gift? If you are stumped as to what to get, here is a list of five gift ideas that may help you decide. They're not cheap, but it is your father we are talking about here, so they probably deserve something special.

    Amazon Kindle

If Dad is big on reading, the Kindle e-reader from Amazon is the perfect gift.  Instead of having to purchase books in person and lug them around, the Kindle allows you to carry around an entire virtual library with ease.   The Kindle offers a 6-inch display and a high-contrast E ink screen that works well no matter what the condition, even if you are outside in bright sunlight.

Worried about battery life?  Don't be.  The Kindle's integrated battery offers up to two months of usage on a single charge when Wi-Fi is turned off.  Speaking of Wi-Fi, you can use the connection to download books quickly.  There are over a million free books available for download, and hundreds of thousands of current books for less than $9.99 each.  The Kindle's storage capacity can hold up to 3,500 books, so why make Dad go to the bookstore when he can get what he wants from the comfort of home?

The Amazon Kindle comes in Wi-Fi and 3G versions, with prices starting at $114 just in time for Father's Day.

    Roku XDS

Streaming content seems to really be picking up in popularity and appears to be the wave of the future.  After all, it let's you pick and choose from a vast array of content and watch it when you want to and where you want to.  There are several streaming options on the market, but one that is hard to beat is Roku.  Roku is a small box that acts as a streaming gateway between your television and your existing subscriptions with services such as Netflix, Amazon, and more.

The benefits of Roku are numerous.  It's small, affordable, and easy to setup.  The box connects to your Wi-Fi connection wirelessly, an it also gives you a ton of flexibility in terms of entertainment, so you really have control over what you watch.  Besides the aforementioned Netflix and Amazon, other entertainment options that can be accessed via Roku include Hulu Plus, Pandora Internet Radio, and more.  There are even free channels that can be accessed at no added cost.

The Roku XDS box is the company's high-end offering.  It can play 1080p HD video and has dual-band wireless technology and extended range wireless N to give you high quality video no matter where you are in the house.  The Roku XDS also comes with an enhanced remote and an instant replay feature.

At just $99.99, the Roku XDS is an attractive gift idea that could definitely make Dad happy this Father's Day.

    HTC Thunderbolt

Are your phone conversations with Dad lacking?  Here's one gift idea that can make it easier to communicate.  It's the HTC Thunderbolt, and it's a blazing fast smartphone that works on Verizon's new 4G network.  The Thunderbolt is powered by a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, and it runs on Google's popular Android mobile platform.

The Thunderbolt is much more than just a device for making phone calls.  In fact, you could call it a one-stop shop for all of Dad's entertainment and productivity needs while on the go.  The smartphone comes with plenty of Google features such as Maps, YouTube, Gmail, and access to the Android Market and its huge catalog of apps.  There's internet connectivity over Wi-Fi or 4G, and browsing the net is a joy thanks to a spacious 4.3-inch display.  The Thunderbolt comes with an integrated camera, DLNA connectivity for content streaming, a kickstand for easy viewing, surround sound, and much more.
