Top Five Green Laptops - Dell Latitude D630 ATG

The Dell Latitude D630 ATG is also a green product; it received a gold rating from EPEAT. Additionally, the laptop meets the tough Energy Star 4.0 standards. Designed for people who work in harsh environments, the Dell Latitude D630 ATG can endure humidity, dust, or water drops. It's encased in a durable frame designed for shock absorbtion.

The Dell Latitude D630 ATG consists of an Intel Core 2 Duo processor and 14-inch LCD screen. You won't get a large hard drive like you will in other laptops. Instead, it comes with a 60 GB hard drive that runs at 5400 rpm. The Dell Latitude D630 ATG also comes with a 24X CD-RW/DVD drive that's swappable. So if you need to use a floppy drive, you can swap the DVD drive out and insert the floppy drive.

Finally, you have an option of getting mobile wireless broadband. You just order it from Dell. Dell's Mini Card-based solutions support Verizon and Sprint, which both use the EV-DO Rev A protocol. The solutions also work with AT&T, which uses the HSDPA 3.6 protocol.

The Dell Latitude D630 ATG has two battery options. You can either get a 56 watt-hour Li-Ion pack, which is the standard battery. All you have to do is snap the battery into the laptop's front underside. Or you can also select a secondary 48 watt-hour Lithium-Polymer, which you just insert into the media bay.
