To protect your network from accessing dodgy sites, you need to use the ‘Block Sites’ section of the administration interface. Once in that page, you should find a text box that allows you add keywords or domain names that are blocked. For this example, I have just added .de and clicked the Add button to move it into the blocked list:

Now, when I try to view a page that contains .de in the URL (http://www.google.de for example) I get a message advising that the site is blocked by Netgear:

With the Netgear router, you can add up to 36 keywords; other models/brands may vary. You’ll notice that this also blocks access to our beloved www.devshed.com, which frankly is unacceptable. You can add a trusted IP address (the one of your own PC) that is allowed to access any URL so that you can still visit DevShed. To ensure that it is only ever your PC that obtains the IP address entered as the trusted IP address, you can use the Address Reservation section of the LAN IP Setup section to reserve the IP for your computer:
