Making a Blowhole - Making a Blowhole

PROJECT BLOWHOLE
There are several ways to wire this in. I just use a normal molex pin connector, the ones that are probably already attached to the fan(s) you have for this project. Make sure your wires are neat inside your case, and leave one female connector exposed towards the side of your case.
If you have made a dual blowhole like we have in many of our example pics, take some wire ties and put the two set of fan wires together. I personally solder both sets together at the fans so you only have one set of wires to worry about, but that is up to you.
You must leave enough wire so you can remove the side of your case and still have room to connect / disconnect the connector, but not so much that it dangles and gets caught up in the fans. That would be bad! On the HX08 case we did this project on, it required the panel to be slid all the way to the rear of the case to remove. That was unacceptable, so we bent the top tabs back so we could pull the side straight off. By doing that we made it possible to have very short wires connected to our blowholes. What good does it do to increase airflow with blowholes just to clog it up with a rats nest of wires?
Once you have your fans plugged in and the wires tucked out of the way, go ahead and put the panel back on all the way. Oops, I almost forgot to tell you, YOU'RE DONE!!! That's it!!
Below are some pics of our completed projects:

Alright, there ya have it, completed blowholes in their proper form. Oh yeah, notice the HardOCP badge, how do ya think we got into this stuff??
I know what your thinking, "he said we need a six pack, what do we do with the two we haven't drank?" That's a damn fine question. You plug that biziatch back up, and quake with your newly cut up case while enjoying two cold ones. (You have had them in the fridge haven't you?
This project is one that is different than some of the others we do around here, this one actually makes a big difference and serves a purpose. Before I added my blowholes, my case temp averaged between 28-29.5c. Since the addition of my blowholes my case temp goes as low as 22.5c and tops out at only 26.5c. Now that's a big improvement!! Granted, I added four to my case, 2 on the side and two on top, but you get my point!!
We have several things in the works right now, some things that don't do dick, but they sure do look pretty as hell!! Such as that Plexiglas window we showed ya a sneak pic of on the main page. So keep an eye out for more ways to destroy your case from us!
Thanks a lot for checking us out. Hopefully you've learned a little something with this article and had some fun along the way, I know we did.
