Going Wireless - Should You Go Wireless?

Wireless Internet is something of a fun novelty and can be highly convenient, especially for laptop users. But a lot goes into going wireless. You have to set up a special wireless account, you have to buy new equipment, you have to go through a tedious process to get everything set up right. Is wireless Internet really worth the trouble? In other words…should you go wireless?

A wireless Internet connection works off of an existing connection -- the DSL, cable or broadband connection with which you’re already familiar. This does not mean you’ll enjoy the exact same connection speed, however. Wireless is a little bit slower than a direct connection, and you may notice a slight lag once you make the switch.

You will, however, have the convenience of being unfettered and free. You will always be connected to the Internet (unless something goes wrong with some piece of equipment) and you will be able to access the Internet from a wide area of your home (if not your entire home) without ever plugging in. The added convenience might make up for a slight loss of connection speed. Going wireless means buying equipment and going through several steps to make everything work, but the entire process (even the buying) shouldn’t take more than a few hours. In a single day, you can become unfettered. Should you go wireless? How important is a wire-free computer experience to you?

    Take Wireless Further

When it comes to computers, wireless doesn’t end at the Internet alone. You can maximize your wireless experience by purchasing wireless keyboards, mice, and other computer tools. These devices are made to send a wire-free signal to your computer and require no special routers or devices to achieve cohesion with your machine. Upon purchase of such tools, you will also receive software and all the necessary paraphernalia to make wireless a total computer experience. Why stop with wireless Internet alone?
