Advanced Study of Accurate Voltage Measurements - Final Thoughts

    Final Thoughts

Congratulations, you've arrived to the end of this series. Give yourself a pat on the back for actually arriving here. Right now you're way ahead of the crowd. Despite the fact that all of this information is reachable via the Internet, many people aren't aware of it. Some think it's too hard, others don't bother at all. It's not a black art!

I am fairly confident that my article series has increased your interest in this topic and hope it serves as a motivating wellspring to research and practice. Always read and learn the basics of the techniques before attempting to do them. Once you're familiar with the process per se on an intellectual level, then you're ready to practice.

If you own multiple computers then I'd advocate picking the cheapest one and practicing on it. Trust me, it's better that way at first. It will give you that confidence boost you may be lacking and you will feel safer while inserting your probes. Once you've acquired a significant amount of firsthand experience you can move on.

Keep in mind that the methods I've described throughout my article aren't the only ones. There are various other ways to accomplish the same things. Amaze yourself by researching on Vdimm (memory voltage) and chipset voltage reading points, too. Search Google for the particular "reading points" of your motherboard.

If you fail to find them, you could join our community at "DevHardware Forums" and ask us. Let us know the model number and manufacturer of your motherboard and we'll do our best to find those suitable spots. Furthermore, as soon as you can comfortably measure voltages with DMMs while your computer is on, with a little bit of patience you can find many of the spots yourself, too. Give yourself some credit, please.

    Good luck... and be safe!
