    Sony Bravia KDL-52EX700

The Sony Bravia KDL-52EX700 is a 52-inch edge-lit LED-based LCD television that has plenty to offer in the way of interactive features, picture settings, and more. Does it belong in your living room? Let's take a closer look.

Its performance seems to head towards the middle of the pack, but all of its redeeming qualities put together make it an attractive choice for television shoppers. The Bravia KDL-52EX700 is currently available for around $1,980, depending on where you shop.

The Bravia KDL-52EX700's 52-inch display has a full HD 1080p resolution of 1,920x1,080, a 16:9 aspect ratio, and a dynamic contrast ratio that is referred to as “infinite.” The television uses Motionflow 120Hz technology which helps to reduce blur during sequences that contain a lot of action and fast movements.

This is ideal for sports fans or those who enjoy watching action movies, as Motionflow doubles the frame rate to give a more accurate and realistic picture minus the blur found with less advanced televisions that come unequipped with such technology. The Motionflow option can be toggled off if you wish.

As far as the overall performance of the Bravia KDL-52EX700 is concerned, it can be considered satisfactory, although not without its flaws. The black levels produced are not the deepest you will find. They are a bit on the lighter side, and this may become noticeable to viewers who enjoy watching DVDs in rooms with the lights turned off.

On the other hand, color accuracy is quite good, and objects look natural on-screen. Luckily, Sony opted to go with a matte finish for its display, which helps in reducing glare and reflection in rooms with a lot of windows or bright lights. Had they elected to go with a glossy finish found on other televisions, one would likely experience annoying reflections during the day or while having lights turned on. Luckily, with the KDL-52EX700, this is not an issue.

The KDL-52EX700 also provides wide viewing angles up to 178 degrees, so you can be sitting at non-premium angles to the television but still get an accurate picture minus extreme distortion. Audio performance is good, with the integrated speakers providing plenty of volume in all directions.
