Panasonic Viera TH-50PZ850U Television - Features
(Page 3 of 4 )
There are several features that come loaded onto the Panasonic Viera TH-50PZ850U, as you would expect when purchasing a top-of-the-line plasma television. Perhaps the most anticipated feature is the introduction of Panasonic's Viera Cast, a program which allows you to connect your TH-50PZ850U to the Internet to let you to use certain web-based functions. The TH-50PZ850U is currently the only television in Panasonic's line that sports this feature.
With Viera Cast, you can use the Internet on your television to view informative things such as local weather reports and up-to-the-minute stock market information and news courtesy of Bloomberg. On the entertainment side of Viera Cast, you can also watch YouTube videos or view digital photos on Google's Picasa photo sharing service.
Of course, you could currently just hook up your computer or laptop to a less expensive television and surf the net that way, but having the ability to use the Internet without a computer connected to it is a convenience that the TH-50PZ850U's Viera Cast provides. While the Internet surfing capabilities are currently limited to the aforementioned sites, Panasonic will most likely expand Viera Cast's Internet capabilities and also place the function on more of its less expensive televisions.

As with most flat panel HDTVs now available on the market, the Panasonic Viera TH-50PZ850U has 1080p resolution, which is definitely a must since the TH-50PZ850U is a top-of-the-line television. The TH-50PZ850U also has a wider array of colors than its predecessors.
