Panasonic Viera TC-P54Z1 - Other Features

Unfortunately, you won't find much in the way of energy saving options on the TC-P54Z1.  Although the set uses a NEO PDP plasma panel, it is still likely to consume plenty of electricity.

It is Energy Star compliant, though, and the new NEO PDP panel that is used consumes about half the electricity when compared to older plasma models. It is doubtful that someone with the budget to buy such an expensive HDTV would worry about the yearly electrical charges, although they may be interested in conserving energy for the sake of the environment.

The Viera TC-P54Z1 sports some nice interactive features through its Viera Cast technology to give you added entertainment to supplement your regular television programming and DVDs. The TC-P54Z1 has an Ethernet port that allows you to use the television to connect to the Internet. This connectivity gives you access to various content.

If you aren't a fan of wires, you will have to purchase a third-party wireless bridge to achieve a wireless connection. Once connected, you can access Amazon Video On-demand for when you want to watch a new release without having to leave the comfort of your home. YouTube is available to watch video clips.

If you are a fan of photo viewing, you can do so by accessing a Picasa account to view and share photos. Viera Cast also allows you to access current weather information. For those interested in stock news, Bloomberg is offered by Viera Cast as well. In the future, it would be nice if Panasonic decided to include the popular movie service known as Netflix in its interactive features.
