    Panasonic Viera TC-P54Z1

Those with deep pockets who demand the best may want to take a look at the Viera TC-P54Z1 from Panasonic. This 54-inch plasma television blends superb style with substance. Undoubtedly, many will be scared by its price tag -- it retails for $5,500 but can be found for around $4,000 after shopping around. If money is not an issue, however, keep reading.

The Viera TC-P54Z1's 54-inch screen has a 1,920x1,080 resolution, giving it distinction as a full HD 1080p set. It also has a 16:9 aspect ratio. The picture produced by the TC-P54Z1 is among the best you will find on the market. Black levels are deep, making it superb for watching movies. Color is very accurate as well, and color saturation is solid. It also has a 40,000:1 native contrast ratio.

Another plus of the set's performance is its wide viewing angles. You don't need to have the best seat in the house, as you can be at a wide angle to the television and still be able to view the picture without distorted color.

The TC-P54Z1 also handles 1080p/24 sources well, as any pesky flicker problems are absent while watching such content. Sound is quite good too, as the new BBE ViVA technology used by the TC-P54Z1 produces good bass and 3D sound throughout the room.
