NEC Accusync LCD193wxm Flat Panel Review - Performance and Image Quality
(Page 4 of 5 )
The LCD193wxm really shines in the performance and image quality categories. This flat panel has a maximum resolution of 1440 x 900 pixels. This monitor also boasts a very impressive 1000:1 contrast ratio. The 16.2 million available colors are extremely vivid and accurate, and allow for a very pleasurable viewing experience. The image brightness is a respectable 300 cd/m2. This flat panel has the same, if not better, image quality as monitors which cost $100 more. Many current users of the LCD193wxm say that this monitor is great for dimly-lit rooms because of its excellent brightness. This could make this flat panel a great choice to use in a photography dark room.

Recent tests have shown that this Accusync is on a par with, or better than, most of its competition when it comes to performance. Most of the performance tests have revealed that the LCD193wxm performs better than the very popular HP w2207 (check out my review of the w2207). The very fast 5 millisecond response time is excellent for a monitor in this price range. This fast response time will minimize, or eliminate, any ghosting on the screen during fast action sequences. This is the reason why I said earlier that this monitor may be a good choice for casual gamers. Games tend to have a lot of fast movement, and in turn a fast response time is required for the flat panel being used.
There is no doubt in my mind that this flat panel is a great performer with excellent image quality for the price. If performance and image quality is a big factor in your choice of a flat panel and you don't mind not having the HDCP compliance, then this may be the right flat panel for you.
