Monitor Review: Samsung SyncMaster P2450h and the Asus MS238H - Asus Design
(Page 4 of 4 )
The design of the MS238H is unique, although that might not be a good thing in this case. Its unique nature comes from its stand. Rather than having a neck and standard base like other monitors, the MS238H's stand is a circular wheel and attached directly to the back of the monitor in a vertical position.
While it looks interesting, it keeps the monitor at a constant tilt and offers zero ergonomic options. The end result is that you could see some distortion, and you must get used to the perpetual slant at which the monitor will sit. This design feature will obviously be a turn-off to many potential shoppers.
As for the look of the monitor itself, it has the typical glossy black bezel that is thin on the top and side panels and wider at the bottom. Connectivity options reside on the back panel's lower right corner, facing outward. You get an HDMI port, a VGA port, and a headphone jack. To comply with DVI connections, Asus packages the monitor with an HDMI-to-DVI cable.
If you are on a budget and are looking for a larger monitor, the Asus MS238H may fit your needs. Its design is not the greatest, however, so if you can afford it, you are better off getting a monitor that comes with a more standard design and offers more ergonomic options.
