Monitor Review: Samsung SyncMaster P2450h and the Asus MS238H - Asus MS238H
(Page 3 of 4 )
The Asus MS238H is a 23-inch monitor that provides decent performance packaged in a rather odd design. While the design may be hard to get used to, the monitor's price could sway many into purchasing it. The MS238H is available for right around $200, and it comes with a two-year warranty on parts and labor.
The MS238H's 23-inch display has a full HD resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 and a 16:9 aspect ratio. It offers decent performance, especially when you consider its price tag. Color accuracy is satisfactory, although some may see a slightly green tint at times with movies. The monitor's black levels are also not the deepest around, but should suffice for the casual eye. Gamers will find the display to be good enough for their gaming needs, too.
The monitor's on-screen display controls reside in its bottom right panel. The controls come in the form of small white buttons that activate their labels right above when pressed. This is a nice aesthetic touch.
Once in the OSD, you get the typical adjustments. For quick picture adjustments, there are preset modes that include: Standard, Scenery, Night View, Game, and Theater. Each is calibrated to maximize the settings of whatever task you are performing. Other adjustment options include those for brightness, contrast, color temperature, and skin tone.
