Lenovo ThinkVision L2251x Wide and the Samsung PX2370 - Samsung PX2370 monitor

The Samsung  PX2370 is a 23-inch LCD monitor that performs well and looks even better. Add to that an impressive feature set, and you have yourself a monitor worth looking at. The PX2370 can be found for around $300, and comes with a three-year warranty on parts and labor.

The Samsung PX2370's 23-inch display has a full HD resolution of 1,920 x 1,080, a 16:9 aspect ratio, and a 5,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. The monitor is a solid performer when compared to the competition. It offers satisfactory black levels and good color accuracy. Both video games and movies look good on the PX2370.

The PX2370 offers a good amount of adjustable settings. These settings can be accessed through its on-screen display, which is activated by physical controls that reside on the back right hand side of the monitor. The monitor comes with various presets that automatically adjust the display's color temperature and brightness according to the setting. This comes in handy if you are not too keen on making manual adjustments yourself.

The preset modes include: Dynamic Contrast, Game, Cinema, Standard, and Custom. There are basic adjustments available for brightness, contrast, sharpness, and color tone as well. The color tone setting offers three presets as well as an additional custom one that allows you to adjust the levels of red, green, and blue separately.

In addition to its standard adjustments, the Samsung PX2370 also offers a trio of other features that you can customize. For those who like to conserve energy, there is a Magic Eco feature that allows you to adjust the monitor's brightness to three different levels to conserve electricity.

For those who want to protect their eyesight, there is a Magic Lux feature that uses an integrated ambient light sensor to automatically adjust the monitor's brightness according to the amount of light in the room. This is a great feature to have to help keep your eyes from hurting due to a bright screen in a dark room.

There is also a Magic Return feature that works well for those who use multiple monitors. In the event that your secondary monitor is shut off, Magic Return will transfer all of that monitor's windows to the primary monitor. Finally, the PX2370 has a Magic Angle function that adjusts the monitor's brightness according to whatever angle you are viewing it from so that there is less distortion visible.
