The LG 47SL80 is a 47-inch HDTV that has an attractive design and good connectivity and adjustment options. It is not at the top of its class when it comes to performance, but that does not mean it shouldn't get a strong look from LCD shoppers.
This set deserves an especially close look if you value the design of a device as much as its functionality. The 47SL80 retails for $1,900 but can be found for around $1,500 or less, depending on where you shop.
The 47SL80's 47-inch screen has a full HD 1080p resolution and a 16:9 aspect ratio, as well as a 150,000:1 contrast ratio. As far as performance is concerned, it is a mixed bag. The 47SL80 offers TruMotion 240Hz technology, which helps with reducing blur in high-action sequences. The color accuracy provided by the 47SL80 is excellent, but there are other areas where it falls a bit short when compared to the competition.
