    HP w2558hc and Planar PX2611w - Planar PX2611w

The Planar PX2611w is nearly twice the price of the HP w2559hc and can be purchased for around $800 depending on where you look. The extra money spent on the Planar PX2611w is protected by the manufacturer's three-year parts and labor warranty. Customers can get support via the company website using chat or email.

The Planar PX2611w has a 25.5 inch screen and weighs about 25 pounds. It measures 18 inches high by 23.4 inches wide by 10.8 inches deep including the stand and 3.5 inches deep without it. The overall look of the Planar PX2611w is rather industrial, as it is entirely black without much gloss or highlights to its design, but it does exude an aura of something solid and durable.

The circular stand and sheer weight of the device keep it sturdy regardless of any sudden movements, which is good to know since the last thing you want to do is knock over and break an $800 piece of equipment. The monitor can swivel 180 degrees independent of the stand, and you can also adjust its height by two inches.

The features of the Planar PX2611w are pretty basic with few frills. Its high price comes from the fact that it has an IPS panel, which allows for wider viewing angles without much correction or distortion when moving around.

There are plenty of connectivity options on the Planar PX2611w, although HDMI is not one of them. Instead, you get a VGA port, a DVI port, four USB downstream ports, and one USB upstream port. You can manually adjust the picture to affect such settings as brightness, color temperature, and sharpness to name a few, or choose from one of six video presets available.

Overall, the Planar PX2611w is a solid LCD monitor with plenty of connectivity options and an excellent picture. Its price tag is high, however, and it lacks HDMI connectivity. You should really consider the Planar PX2611w only if you work with graphics for a living and need an IPS panel or if money is not an issue and you want a top notch picture at a high price.
