HP LP2465 Flat Panel Monitor - Design

Despite having a somewhat odd design, the make of the monitor actually allows for optimum stability, and thankfully, the broad, thin base won’t take up even a fraction of the desktop space that other monitors would eat up. The overall dimensions of the HP LP2465 are 21.8” by 19.7” and it weighs in at an unassuming 23.6 lbs. The monitor is designed for easy screen adjustments, and its light weight does nothing but make moves that much easier.

Overall, the HP LP2465’s design is pleasing. The narrow bezel measures 2 cm thick on the top and the sides and 2.3cm along the bottom. Four buttons for the on-screen menu (OSM) sit along the bottom front of the monitor's edge, and the menu is easy to navigate. The OSM gives you a standard array of adjustment options, plus a few extras; you can control individual red, green and blue color values, check the number of backlight and total usage hours (the backlight is said to have a lifespan of 50,000 hours) and calibrate your colors. You can also adjust the brightness, the contrast, the resolution and the white point with your keyboard and mouse after installing HP's Display Assistant software, which is included on a CD-ROM along with a thorough user guide.

In terms of cable management for the monitor, it is simple, but not entirely effective. There is a groove alongside each stand edge that is covered in a thick piece of rubber. You can tuck both the power and video cables into the top of the stand and run them inside the grooves and out the back of the bottom of the stand. There is no plastic piece to remove, and some cables purchased independently may not fit in these grooves. It will prove to be a minor inconvenience, but an inconvenience nonetheless.
