Dell UltraSharp U2711 and the Samsung SyncMaster F2380 - Dell UtraSharp Design
(Page 2 of 4 )
The look of the U2711 lacks a lot of flash, but, then again, its functionality and performance are its selling points. The monitor is mostly covered by a matte black finish with the exception of some gray added in certain places, such as the neck support. To reduce glare, the display is covered in a matte finish as well.
Measurement-wise, the U2711 is 25.5 inches wide by 16.8 inches tall by 7.9 inches deep, with the depth accounting for the monitorís stand. The stand itself is rectangular and keeps the monitor steady during sudden movements. The stand is ergonomically designed, as it allows you to adjust the height, as well as swivel and tilt the display. You also have the option of mounting the U2711 to a wall.
The connection options on the UltraSharp U2711 are also impressive. The back panel houses an HDMI port, two DVI ports, a VGA port, a DisplayPort, a component video port, a composite video port, audio ports, one USB upstream port, and two USB downstream ports. Connectivity is completed on the left panel of the monitor, which includes two more USB downstream ports and an 8-in-1 media reader for transferring data from such formats as SD cards, Memory Sticks, and more.
The only thing that should keep you from purchasing the Dell UltraSharp U2711 is its price. You do get what you pay for, though, as the U2711 delivers in terms of performance, adjustability, design, and connectivity. If you spend a lot of time on your computer and want to upgrade to a top-notch monitor, the U2711 deserves your consideration.
