Dell 19 inch Flat Screen Monitor Review (Page 1 of 5 )
The 1907FP UltraSharp flat panel monitor from Dell has been described as the best 19 inch monitor currently on the market. Throughout the course of this review I'll be looking at the monitor and all its features in detail to see if it lives up to these wild and extravagant claims.
The box includes the following contents:
- The 19" TFT monitor (in silver or black finish)
- A stand (available only in silver)
- 1 x VGA cable
- 1 X DVI cable
- 1 x power supply cable
- 1 x USB bus cable
- The manual and quick start documentation
- A CD containing drivers and a soft copy of the documentation
As you can see, everything you need to get started and begin using your monitor is there in the box; a choice of interface cables is useful. One thing about the power cable that I like is that there is no chunky power adapter to take up more space. The standard kettle-lead cable plugs right into the monitor itself.

The CD contains an HTML-based information system that provides general information about the monitor and its use, information about the stand, guides to setting up and rotating the monitor and a troubleshooting guide to help you resolve common, non-technical issues. It also contains drivers for Windows 2000, XP and Vista in case you need to manually update your system.
The full specifications are as follows:
- Screen Type Active Matrix TFT LCD
- Screen Dimensions 19" viewable image size
- Pixel Pitch 0.294 mm
- Horizontal Viewing Angle 140º typ
- Vertical Viewing Angle 130º typ
- Luminance Output 300 CD/m2
- Contrast Ratio 700:1
- Response Time 8ms typical
- Maximum Resolution 1280 x 1024 at 75 Hz
- Full Height (with stand extended) 19.23 inches
- Width 16.15 inches
- Depth 7.16 inches
- Weight 15.87 pounds
I can't fault the monitor's looks; both the black and silver versions look great and would make a tasteful and professional addition to anyone's desk. The plastic bezel around the screen is very thin and the buttons to access the menus and other features are well placed and discrete. It takes up the minimum amount of space necessary to give you a fantastic 19 inches of screen.
