Toshiba PDR-3300 Digital Camera Review - Specifications

    Toshiba PDR 3300

I agree that it's not the sexiest looking thing on the planet, but in all honesty that matters not at all. At least we know with this camera that we're paying for pure technology, not mere aesthetics.

This camera has been described as the best choice for people making the switch to digital photography. Here is a somewhat detailed list of the guts of this baby:

    • 1/1.8 inch CCD @ 3.2 million pixels
    • up to 2048 x 1536 resolution (JPEG Exif Ver. 2.2 compression)
    • uses Secure Digital media (8MB card included)
    • 2.8X Optical Zoom, 2.2X Digital Zoom
    • Aperture: F2.9-F4.8
    • f=7.25-20.3mm, 35mm-100mm @35mm
    • shutter: 1/2-1/1000 sec. Sensitivity
    • Playback: Zoom (2x), Single Frame, Slide Show,m Movie, Thumbnail
    • AVI Movie Mode (15 FPS, no audio)
    • PAL/NTSC video out
    • powered by 4 AA batteries (NiMH recommended)
    • expect about 100 shot battery life (with flash)
    • self-timer and remote included
    • USB interface
    • Automatic white balance
    • manual white balance for:  Daylight, Cloudy, Incandescent, Fluorescent 1 and 2
    • Flash: Auto, red eye auto, red eye fill, off, fill-in flash,slow-sync
    • Flash Range: 0.6m to 2.5m
    • Burst Shot: 3 @ 2048 x 1536 (per 1.6 sec.)
    • Long time exposure: 15, 8, 4, 2, 1 sec.
    • Dimensions: 4.53" x 2.72" x 1.8"
    • Weight: 8.1 ounces

These are many of the specs that most of us are interested in when buying a camera. For an exhaustive list of all specifications (of interest to professionals primarily) you can get the spec sheet from Toshiba.

There are far too many features to list here. Truthfully, I've read through the inch thick manual once, and plan to read most of it again, learning each feature one-by-one so I can actually remember most of them.
