If you believe that style is as important as substance, then you should be pleased with the introduction of the Coolpix S210 digital camera from Nikon. The S210 is a slim, compact and sexy digital camera that comes in a variety of seven colors to choose from depending on where you live. Today we'll be taking a look at it to see if it's long on style but short on substance.

Unfortunately, the S210 lacks a viewfinder. Still, the Coolpix S210 is a stylish and easy to use camera that is affordable as well. Priced anywhere between $150 and $200, depending on where you shop, the Coolpix S210 is one of the lowest priced cameras in the Nikon Coolpix line of digital cameras.
For its price, the Nikon Coolpix S210 does boast some nice features, starting with its 8.1 megapixel sensor and a 2.5 inch display with 230,000 dot composition. The S210 comes equipped with a 3X zoom lens, and has also been loaded with new technology in the form of Nikon’s EXPEED image processing, which improves the signal to noise ratio and also aids in noise reduction. This is a nice plus to have and seems like a luxury, as EXPEED has only been introduced prior by the manufacturer in higher end and more expensive DSLRs, such as the professional grade D3 and D300 models. It was a nice touch by Nikon to include such a technology in a lower end economy digital camera model.
A few other features on the Coolpix S210 are in-camera automatic red eye reduction, face detection auto focus, electronic image stabilization, and a D-lighting post processing tool. The four shooting modes utilized with the Coolpix S210 are auto, high ISO, scene, and movie, which allows you to film short clips as well.
In addition to the camera itself, Nikon provides you with a rechargeable battery and charger, AV and USB cables, software for use in reference with the camera, and a wrist strap. The Coolpix S210 works with SD memory media and boasts 52MB or internal memory as well. All in all, these are some good features to have in an economically priced digital camera.
