Five of the Best Ultracompact Digital Cameras on the Market for 2007 - Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-T100
(Page 6 of 6 )
Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-T100 (est. $390)The T100 was released by Sony in early 2007, and it is the most expensive model in this review. It is worth every penny, though, with its small body, fast performance, and excellent features. Its all metal body comes in silver, black, or red. It is relatively small at 3.6 x 0.9 x 2.3 inches and weighs only 5 ounces.

The T100 offers an impressive 8.1 mega-pixel Supper HAD CCD sensor. The high- quality LCD display is a large 3 inches, and it is viewable under any lighting conditions. The T100 has the highest optical zoom range in this review at 5x. In order to keep long-range shots from becoming blurry, Sony has implemented their image stabilization system in this camera; it works very well.
The T100 captures high quality video clips at 30 frames per second, and you can even use the 5x optical zoom while filming video. This camera also comes equipped with a bundle of features including in-camera editing, special effects, face-detection technology, and the ability to view your photos on your television as a slide show.
Image quality is excellent all the way up to ISO 800. The T100 performed nicely in terms of speed as well. Tests have shown that this camera's typical shot-to-shot time is about 1.4 seconds.
This camera's performance is excellent in every way, but its higher price tag may hurt it a bit compared to the other choices in this review. If cost is no big deal to you, the T100 would definitely by an excellent choice for your next ultracompact digital camera.
