Digital Cameras Under $50 - Camera list considerations
(Page 4 of 4 )
Before I continue, I'd like to make a digression to point out the penultimate name on the list. Yes, it's Kodak. And closer to the top of the list, you'll find Sony. Admit it, just once. You did not expect to see brand name cameras on this list of budget cameras. Yet nonetheless, they are.
The truth is that as digital cameras are becoming more common, and less of a new technology, the prices are going down. Don't expect to see what you might have in your camera bag if you are a professional photographer in this price range, but for the average home user's needs, the cameras that you would find on this list should do the job.
On a side note though, you shouldn't entirely discount a piece of electronics and because you haven't heard the brand name before. After all, 30 or 40 years ago no one had heard of Windows or Macintosh before. Evaluate the cameras based on the specifications, not just the brand name.
As you may have noticed by now, that list is pretty extensive. There are 20 different cameras for you to choose from. Of course, as you may have noticed some of them are clearly not suitable for grown-ups, at least not most grown-ups. After all, would you really want to give the SpongeBob camera or the Hello Kitty camera to couple getting married or your grandmother? That comes back your personal judgment again, and it would also be fair to mention to you that many of these cameras come in different colors.
That means if I've shown you a model that's pink and purple and your intended receiver is a 13-year-old boy, there may be a blue, green or black model just waiting to be discovered that will suit both your needs and your budget. In addition, I started the camera listings at $10 in order to accommodate all possible situations.
Now that you have a list of cameras your disposal there are a few things you should consider before making a final purchase. You need to consider the steadiness of the camera and how rough the user is likely to be on it. After all, someone who is generally responsible with their technology may find themselves in a whole different situation when they take that camera onto the trails or to a football game. Next you should consider what the graphics on the camera are; even a nine-year-old could hate SpongeBob. If you don't know much about the receiver's particular tastes, I suggest you avoid cameras that are branded with a particular character, TV show, movie or any other affiliation.
Now you can just click on order, and wait for the delivery to come. Maybe you can spend all of that extra time you have now -- you know, that time you didn't spend at the mall -- and use it to save the planet or to write a letter to your congressman.
